Nepathya performs in Columbus

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Aug. 20: The third concert of Nepathya’s series of tours in America was concluded grandly in Columbus, the capital of Ohio, on Saturday. 

The Kemba Live Hall of Columbus was jampacked with listeners of  Nepali origin carrying Nepali flags to enjoy the famous music band of Nepal. 

To enjoy the concert in Columbus, some of the fans had driven for seven hours as far as Missouri. 

According to a statement issued by nepalaya, Prakash Joshi arrived in Columbus from Missouri to enjoy the concert. 

 Immigrants from Asia and South America dominate the 200-year-old city of Columbus. A large number of Nepalis, especially the Bhutanese refugees resettled in the third country, are living in Ohio. 

Nandu Khatiwada, 31, was one of the resettled Bhutanese refugees who was also seen dancing with a Nepali flag in his hand in the crowd of fans. 

Brought up in Khudunabari camp of the refugees in Jhapa, Nepal, Khatiwada reached Ohio at the age of 19 as a refugee. 

“I felt like I was meditating for two hours,” Khatiwada who reached the Kemba Hall to listen to Nepathya’s songs, said.    

As usual, lead singer Amrit Gurung enthralled the crowd with all-time hit songs. 

The concert began at 8:00 pm with his song ‘Koshiko Pani, Yo Jindgani” and concluded in two hours by singing “Rato Ra Chandra Surye”. 

The concert featured several songs,  both new and old hits, including, “Resham,” “Taal Ko Pani,”  “Sirphul Siraima” and Nainata.”

After the grand success of the first three concerts of their US tour, Nepathya’s fourth performance will be held in Texas on August 24. 

After the Texas show, the tour will continue in Dallas, New York, Maryland, and finally, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, read the press statement.
