By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Aug. 19: Aakhaa, a film based on social issues, is set to be released on September 27.
The production team has announced the new release date along with a new poster.
The movie, presented by Lama Cinema, is written and directed by Zaun Yonzan.
Artistes including Smita Lamichhane, RK Mehta, Nisha Adhikari, Buddhi Tamang, Bijay Baral, Saroj Khanal, Pashupati Rai, Krishna Bhakta Maharjan, Rajan Khatiwada, Pravin Khatiwada, Lunibha Tuladhar,
Rabindra Jha, Renuka Karki, child actor Prasan Rai and others have acted in the film.
Likewise, Smita Lamichhane and RK Mehta are featured in the lead roles.
Lamichhane has acted in several films, including '12 Sattais’ and ‘Ma Rajesh Hamal’ while RK Mehta is making his debut in this film. He lost 15 kilograms for his role in the movie.
Mehta, who has been actively involved in theatre for a long time, has performed in several plays at Shilpee Theatre.
The film ‘Aakhaa’ is produced by Zaun Yonzan himself, with Renuka Karki serving as co-producer.
The film offers a poignant perspective on the struggles of the lower class in modern society and how far people will go to survive, said the film unit. According to the director, the
film explores complex issues like humanity, social pressure, morality and poverty.
