Barsha, Amar start rafting in Bagtmati

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, July 29: Barsha Siwakoti and Amar Pratap Shrestha, the actors of the upcoming film ‘Modibeni’, which will be released on August 2, have started rafting in the Bagmati River.

The rafting began on Saturday under the Bagmati River Festival Mahajal Jatra, in collaboration with the Nepal River Conservation Organisation, Friends Club, and the Bagmati Safai Campaign.

  Actress Siwakoti emphasised the need for government responsibility in river protection, while Shrestha highlighted the potential for rafting in Kathmandu to attract both domestic and foreign tourists.

 The annual rafting event in the Bagmati River aims to raise public awareness about preserving the Bagmati civilisation, with hundreds of participants joining each year.

 Starting Sunday, the public can also participate in rafting from Thapathali to Chobhar for a fixed fee.

Chakra Chand, a social activist involved in the Bagmati Civilisation Campaign, said that regular rafting in Kathmandu is a historic event.

‘Modibeni’ directed by Shankar Koirala, features actors Saroj Khanal, Praveen Khatiwada, Rejina Upreti, Dilip KC, Jeevan Bhattarai, Kamalmani Nepal, among others. 

The film is produced by Dnest Entertainment, with Dilip KC as the producer and Hari Shrestha as the co-producer.
