Purnima sets record by scaling Sagarmatha three times in single season

Kathmandu, May 26: Photo journalist Purnima Shrestha has set a record by climbing Mt. Everest three times in a single climbing season.     

Shrestha scaled the world’s tallest peak thrice in this spring season including at 5:50 am on Saturday, Director of Tourism Department Rakesh Gurung confirmed.  

Shrestha is the first woman to climb Mt. Everest three times in a single climbing season.

With this, she climbed Mt. Everest four times. Before this, Shrestha summited Mt Everest on May 12 and May 19 in this climbing season and had successfully scaled Mt. Everest in 2018. (RSS)
