By Our Correspondent, Biratnagar, May 9: Koshi NK Motors Pvt. Ltd., which was established in Koshi Province with an investment of more than Rs. 3 billion, has moved ahead with the manufacturing of electric vehicles within a year.
By making a formal agreement with China's Xiamen Golden Dragon Auto Body Company, NK Motors has accelerated the preparations for vehicle manufacturing.
Koshi NK Motors has set up a company in an area of 15 bighas of land in Budhiganga of Morang and is preparing to operate it soon.
Chairman of Koshi NK Motors Company Tikaram Puri said that the work had been advanced in a fast track to start production of vehicles within a year.
Chairman Puri said that in the first phase, the company had proceeded with the production of micro and light vehicles to be used for school and college purposes.
Along with that, there is a plan to gradually manufacture all types of vehicles, he said.
President Puri said that the vehicles were going to be produced with the help of investment from Nepali investors and Chinese technology.
He said, "We are going to produce electric vehicles with technical support, not Chinese investment. We have planned to invest Rs. 3 billion in the first phase."
“There is an agreement that we will purchase the parts and necessary raw materials from that company and that skilled technicians will support us for two years.''
He said that the vehicles produced in Nepal would be of Nepali brand.
He said that everyone could be proud of them as a product of Nepal.
A bilateral agreement was signed between Koshi NK Motors Pvt. Ltd. and China's Xiamen Golden Dragon Auto Body Company on April 29, 2024, with the aim of producing all types of four-wheeled vehicles in Nepal.
Puri said that they have a plan to manufacture at least 750 vehicles a month. (RSS)
