Photographs portraying entrepreneurship to be awarded

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, April 26: Gorkhapatra Corporation (GC) has announced to award photographs portraying entrepreneurship on the occasion of the 126th anniversary of the Gorkhapatra daily.

The award will be provided amidst a special ceremony to be held on 7 May 2026.

The competition was announced in the context of marking national photography day on April 26 in recognition of the first photo published in the Gorkhapatra on 26 April 1927. The photo of Surmati Shresthani depicted a woman spinning for weaving clothes.

GC employees and district reporters can take part in the competition of photos depicting entrepreneurship.

GC chairperson Govinda Bhandari announced the competition while speaking at a function held in the GC premises to mark Photo Journalism Day 2083.

 Meanwhile, a special section of books written by and related to Jay Prithvi Bahadur Sigh, founder the Gorkhapatra, has been inaugurated within the library section in the GC.
