Minister Sharma named govt spokesperson

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 8: The first meeting of the new Council of Ministers formed by altering the previous Nepali Congress-CPN (Maoist Centre) coalition convened on Thursday.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ formed the new government of the UML-Maoist Centre by ending the coalition of the NC-Maoist Centre on Monday. He expanded the cabinet on Wednesday.  

The Cabinet meeting held at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers took two decisions. 

It endorsed the visit of Bhagawati Chaudhary, Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens, to participate in the 68th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), according to Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma, after the Cabinet meeting. 

The 68th session of the CSW will be organised at the UN Headquarters in New York. 

The Cabinet meeting also appointed Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma as the spokesperson of the government. 

She was also a government spokesperson until Monday.
