Political leaders, celebrities enjoy Kandetar’s premiere

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 7: The premiere of ‘Kandetar’ which is set to be released on Friday, March 8, took place at Bishwojyoti Cineplex in Jamal, Kathmandu, on Tuesday.

 Political leaders and celebrities watched the film directed by  Nawal Khadka, who is also the president of the Nepal Film Producers’ Association.

Former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, along with former Minister CP Mainali and others, attended the premiere. 

The film portrays Nepal’s crucial efforts in effectively managing its international borders, particularly with India.

Former Prime Minister Khanal expressed that the film evokes memories of significant national events, emphasising the government’s duty to regulate and manage the border.

The film narrates the relationship between Nepal and India, shedding light on India’s recurring encroachments on Nepal’s border pillars.

 Its central theme advocates for the installation of barbed wire along the Nepal-India border for enhanced security and sovereignty.

In the film,  Khadka himself played the lead role while Gaurav Pahari, Surabina Karki, Rebika Gurung, Prashant Yadav, Muralidhar, Prem Subba, Sanjay Khatiwada and others have done the film.  The film, produced by Saamna Films, is co-written by Shivam Adhikari and Khadka. 

Saurav Lama served as the cinematographer while Bande Prasad and Tara Thapa ‘Kimbhe’ edited the film. 

Satya Kala Rai is the executive producer, with Makiko Rai, Anju KC, Nadia Khadka and Saniya Khadka contributing to the production of the film.
