Three including chairperson of Bindhavasini Co-Operative arrested for Rs 70mln embezzlement

By Phanindra Adhikari, Leknath, Mar 4: Kaski Police has arrested three people in the case of money embezzlement of Bindhavasini Saving and Credit Co-Operative Society Limited (BISCOL) of Pokhara Metropolitain-1.

According to the Superintendent of Police Mohan Kumar Thapa, District Police Office, Kaski, police arrested three people after the Office of the Cooperatives Registrar, Gandaki, submitted the investigative report on the BISCOL on Sunday evening. The arrest warrant for other people involved will be made and action will be taken. 

SP Thapa, said, “We received the report at 6:30 PM. We arrested three accused of the case, within three hours of receiving a partial action report. We will arrest others involved after getting the arrest warrant from the Court.”

He said that even though the secretary of the Cooperative Gangadhar Subedi has been on contact supervision since 15 days ago also he has absconded.

The report by the Cooperatives Registrar, Gandaki, has pointed out the case of more than Rs 70 million money embezzlement. The arrested has been identified as Chairman of BISCOL Subarna Man Nakarmi, member of the formation Committee Krishna Man Shrestha and Pharma Entrepreneur Udit Poudyal.

The depositors had filed a complaint to the Cooperatives Registrar, Gandaki demanding the investigation of the money misappropriation of the Cooperative.
