By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb. 29: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that painting has played a significant role in fostering international solidarity.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of ‘Mundum International Painting Exhibition-2080’ on Wednesday, the Prime Minister said that art and painting have significantly contributed to the expansion of Nepal’s art and culture at the international level.
“The paintings on display are original and promote international unity. It is very important to expand Nepal’s art culture to the international level and paintings have made a great contribution to increasing the reputation of the country,” said the Prime Minister.
Referring to Nepal’s natural beauty and originality, the Prime Minister said, “The mountains, rivers, lakes, and forests here are all picturesque. I feel that when they are given concrete shape by connoisseurs and transformed into paintings, the message they convey is very powerful,” said the Prime Minister.
He said that artists have made an important contribution to enhancing the identity and reputation of the country.
The Prime Minister noted that the art prepared by the world’s artists for the painting exhibition showcased Nepal’s geography, culture, and traditions through paintings.
According to the organiser, the exhibition, which started on February 17 at the Nepal Art Council in Kathmandu, showcased more than 170 paintings made by painters from 50 different countries.
