Nepali young guns facing China Yushu Youth today

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb. 10: A young Nepali men’s football team is facing Yushu Youth, a team from China’s Qinghai Province, at a friendly match on the occasion of the Chinese New Year at Dasharath Stadium on Saturday.

The Chinese team arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday for the friendly. According to Chinese officials, it is the first time that the youth team, which is achieving great heights within the nation, travelling abroad.

Speaking at a pre-match conference on Friday, Coach of Yushu informed that they looked forward to the match which will strengthen the friendly ties between the two neighbours.

China’s Yushu city has been evolving in football. Moreover, a youth football school was also established there in 2017 for the purpose.

During the conference, Nepal’s head coach Vincenzo Alberto Annese said the friendly will be a good opportunity for the new players. “More than 24 senior players have gone abroad. In this situation, I believe the young players will give their best. Special attention has been given to the training as a team we got only eight days for the training.”  

Nepal has prepared an under-23 team for the friendly match. 

Manish Dangi will be leading the team that consists of Ayush Ghalan, Puja Hona, Ajay Choudhary, Padam Bhattarai, Chhiring Lama, Yogesh Gurung, Bishal Basnet, Samir Tamang, Prashant Laksham, Sanjeeb Bista, Laken Limbu, Utsav Rai, Santosh Khatri, Rohan Karki, Chandan Kumar, Bishal Sunar, Kushal Deuba, Sumit Shrestha, Ashik Babu, Santosh Mahat, Niranjan Dhami and Anjal Maharjan.
