British Army Chief Sanders in Nepal

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Jan. 31: Chief of the General Staff of the British Army Patrick Nicholas Yardley Monrad Sanders arrived in Nepal on a five-day official visit on Monday at the invitation of Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) General Prabhu Ram Sharma. 

The two army chiefs held a meeting on Tuesday. 

According to Brigadier General and Director at the Directorate of Public Relations and Information, Krishna Prasad Bhandari, matters of mutual interest including the century-old mutual relationship between Nepal and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and the harmonious relationship between the armies of the two countries were discussed in the meeting held on Tuesday morning. 

Before the courtesy meeting, a troop of the Nepali army paid a guard of honour to the British Army Chief at the Army Headquarters. 

The Chief of the British Army was received at the Tribhuvan International Airport by Lieutenant General and Chief of the General Staff (CGS) Ashok Raj Sigdel on Monday. He will remain in Nepal till February 3.
