Jane Dipika Garrett returns after participating in Miss Universe

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Dec. 14: Jane Dipika Garrett, who represented Nepal in the ‘Miss Universe 2023’ held in El Salvador, USA, returned to Nepal on Tuesday night. 

She successfully secured a spot in the top 20 and garnered widespread attention in international media as a plus-size model.

She was warmly welcomed at  the Tribhuvan International Airport by the director of the programme 'Sachetana'  Saroj Ojha. Accompanied by family members and well-wishers, Dipika expressed her pride in representing Nepal on the esteemed international platform of Miss Universe.

 As a plus-size model, she acknowledged the global attention and discussion surrounding her, appreciating the support from both international and Nepali media. Throughout her participation in Miss Universe 2023, Dipika, a 23-year-old winner of  Miss Universe Nepal 2023, gained recognition as a plus-size model in the international media.

She actively shared her perspectives on mental health, positive thinking, and hormonal health.

Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua became the Miss Universe 2023 while Anntonia Porsild from Thailand and Moraya Wilson from Australia emerged as the first and second runners-up receptively. 

Nagma Shrestha, National Director of Miss Universe Nepal, had reached El Salvador to encourage and support Dipika.

 “This year we have taken it as an important achievement to reach the top 20  and our goal is to win Miss Universe for Nepal in the coming years,” said Nagma.
