BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Inruwa, July 31: Koshi Rural Municipality, in Koshi Province, has handed over a bus to Shree Rastriya Secondary School located in Ward No. 3.
Rural Municipality Chairman Ayub Ansari handed over the key of the bus to Hare Krishna Raut, the headmaster, and Samsul Munsari, the chairman of the School Management Committee, on Saturday.
Chairman Ansari emphasised the municipality's commitment to the education sector and announced that the bus was acquired at a cost of Rs. 3.2 million with a generous subsidy from the government of Nepal.
The provision of a 100 per cent subsidy highlights the government’s dedication to improving educational facilities within the region, he added.
He said that the rural municipality had provided the bus to alleviate transportation challenges faced by the students.
Many students residing far from the school struggled to arrive on time, adversely impacting their learning. With the new bus facility in operation, this problem is expected to be addressed, he added.
Headmaster Raut, expressing his gratitude, said that it had significantly boosted the students' morale and hoped it would increase students’ enrollment in the school. The rural municipality informed that the school would be responsible in managing the driver, fuel, as well as maintenance of the bus.
This initiative marks a significant stride towards a more accessible and enriched educational environment, as the municipality continues to prioritise the growth and progress of its educational institutions.
