Nepalgunj, June 1 : Kalpana Paudel Jigyasu's poetry collection Agnispandan was launched, and the song Bibas Aama was released at a programme held in Nepalgunj on Saturday.
The event featured the launch of Paudel’s poetry collection and the release of the song by Prof. Dr Krishna Prasad Ghimire, former member secretary of the Nepal Academy, Sanat Regmi, academician Mahananda Dhakal, former academician Hari Prasad Timilsina and Narendra Jung Peter.
Agnispandan contains 52 poems. Most of the poems reflect feminist and progressive themes, raising strong voices against social evils such as superstition, conservative thinking, injustice, oppression, exploitation, and violence against women.
Similarly, the song ‘Bibas Ama’ features music composed by Riyaj Shiwakoti and vocals by noted singer Benisha Paudel. The song has been produced by Rajiv Shah Studio and Riyaj Recording Centre.
Centred on the struggles and helplessness of mothers, the song emotionally moved many attendees when it was played during the programme.
Speaking at the event, Paudel said the song captures the emotions of hundreds of mothers who are compelled to migrate abroad for employment due to poverty and unemployment, leaving their young children behind at home.
