By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, July 14: A delegation of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) met Chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Rabi Lamichhane and discussed the issues of national economy on Thursday.
The delegation led by its president Rajesh Kumar Agrawal said that all political parties should keep the national economy as their main priority.
Agrawal pointed out the need for a policy to keep the market vibrant as the economy is in a difficult state.
He emphasised that all the parties should prioritise economic issues and implement the budget effectively.
He informed about the Budget Watch launched by the Confederation on behalf of the private sector with the aim of creatively supporting the effective implementation of the budget.
President Agrawal urged to keep sectors such as infrastructure development, information technology, skill development and other areas in priority.
He said that as India has agreed to purchase 10,000 megawatts of electricity in 10 years, the PPA of hydropower projects should be opened, infrastructure should be developed in the public private partnership (PPP) model, information technology, skill development and other areas should be prioritised.
"We should be aware that imposing tax randomly sends a bad message to domestic and foreign investors," he said.
He informed about the need for the payment recovery act as well as the anticipatory bill to facilitate the raising of credit by industrialists.
On that occasion, Chairman Lamichhane said that the private sector should be strengthened to strengthen the economy.
He emphasised that the private sector should be protected by the country's policy and said that there should be institutional representation of the private sector from planning to the implementation level.
He said that the Confederation has started the work to be done by the government and political parties and thanked them for the implementation of 'Budget Watch' with the aim of creatively supporting the effective implementation of the budget.
