Minister Kirati inspects Sarlahi’s ‘Bharat Lake’

By Our Correspondent,Sarlahi, Mar. 14: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati has inspected the fishery pond being constructed at Bagmati Municipality–12, Sarlahi.

Minister Kirati inspected the pond, known locally as Bharat Lake after the municipality’s Mayor Bharat Kumar Thapa, on a boat on Monday.

The pond has been attracting many Nepali and Indian tourists of late – a fact the Minister said he was aware of as he was briefed about its present condition and the ongoing works.

For the inspection, Kirati rode a passenger ferry with normal tourists. He used the opportunity to ask the Indian visitors how they felt about the boat service. He also praised the municipality for constructing the lake and boosting tourism.

He also said that the government would support initiatives for the development and promotion of the water body.

Bagmati Municipality is currently building the fishery pond in 121 Bighas of government land to rear fish and attract tourists.
