Chitwan, June 2: The police have arrested 29-year-old Dr Pappu Kumar Yadav for illegally amassing and trading in virtual currency (cryptocurrency) and committing fraud through digital means. The police also seized 30,000 US dollars and 17 mobile phones from him.
According to the District Police Office Chitwan, Dr Yadav has been living in a rented room in a house in Chitrasen Tole, Bharatpur Metropolitan City–10.
Police have stated that investigation into Dr Yadav, a permanent resident of Hanshapur Municipality-4, Dhanusha, revealed that he has been running an illegal cryptocurrency network.
During the investigation, it was found that he was illegally accumulating and trading virtual currency using banned applications like Binance and Bybit through his mobile and other electronic devices. (RSS)
