Sherpa hold Manang

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 5: Himalayan Sherpa Club held the record eight-time league winner Manang Marsyangdi Club (MMC) to 1-1 draw at the Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League at Dashrath Stadium, Kathmandu on Saturday.

Domestic football powerhouse Manang and Sherpa shared a point after they played the draw in their opening match of the league. Both eight-time league champion Manang and Sherpa started their league with one point.

Roshan Rana Magar scored for Manang and Suresh Kumal equalised for Sherpa. Magar put Manang ahead in the 14th minute of the match.

Kumal rescued Sherpa from the defeat in the dying minute of the match as he levelled 1-1 for his team to take an advantage of Manang's goalie Dip Karki out of his position in the 85th minute of the match. 

APF stun Three Star Club

Armed Police Force (APF) make a winning start in the ongoing Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League after they registered a 2-0 comfortable victory over Three Star Club in their opening match held at Dashrath Stadium, Kathmandu on Saturday.

After a victory over Three Star, APF started the league with a win and collected vital three points and Three Star kicked off the league journey with a loss.

Mani Kumar Lama and Central African nation Chad's striker Armand Beadoum netted one goal apiece in the winning start of departmental side APF.

The first-half between APF and Patan-based Three Star Club ended in a goalless draw but departmental side APF scored two goals in the second half.

 Lama broke the deadlock for APF in the 72nd minute through his wonderful free kick from 35-yard distance and Armand sealed the match for the winning side in the 87th minute of the match. 

Memorable beginning for Church Boys

The newcomer Church Boys United made a winning start at the ongoing Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League after beating Nepal Police Club (NPC) by 2-1 to make a memorable beginning in the league at Chyasal Stadium, Lalitpur on Saturday.

The newcomer Church Boys United started their top-tier football journey with a big 2-1 win against domestic football legacy holder Nepal Police Club in their debut match. Church Boys opened their 'A' Division League account with three points from their first attempt while domestic football one of the powerhouse NPC started the league with a loss.

Church Boys was promoted to the top-tier football league winning the 'B' Division league title in the last season. 

Aashish Chaudhary and Franklin Kuete Taila netted one goal apiece in Church Boys United first appearance in the top-tier league of the nation while Ravi Shankar Paswan scored a consolation goal for departmental side Policemen. Policemen took an early lead in the match through the goal from Paswan in the 14th minute while Chaudhary levelled the match 1-1 for Church Boys United in the dying minute of the first half.

Cameroonian striker Franklin sealed the match for debuting team Church Boys United through in the penalty in the 70th minute after Policemen handled the ball inside their own box. He confirmed the 2-1 victory against Policemen in their first match of the 'A' Division League.
