Khumaltar debut first division league with victory

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar 4: Khumaltar FC edged past Friends Club 1-0 in its debut match at the Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League on Friday.

A lone goal from Messouke Oloumou was enough for Khumaltar to send the statement to the top-tier clubs.  Debutant Khumaltar found its first goal of the first division in the dying minutes from Oloumou. Another debutant Church Boys United Club will meet Nepal Police Club at Chyasal Stadium, Lalitpur at 2:30 PM on Saturday. APF Club will face Three Star Club at Dashrath Stadium, Kathmandu at 2:30 PM.

Manang Marsyandgi Club takes on Himalayan Sherpa Club at Dashrath Stadium, Kathmandu at 5:30 PM on the second day of the league. 

The first division league kicked off under the double-round-robin league format today. 

The title winner of the league will lift Rs. 7.5 million while the first runner-up will receive Rs. 5 million and the second runner-up will bag Rs. 2.5 million. Similarly, the Fair Play team of the league will get Rs. 300,000.

Likewise, the most valuable player of the league will receive Rs. 300,000 while the highest goal scorer and best goalkeeper will bag Rs. 200,000 each respectively. Emerging players of the league will get Rs. 150,000.

Meanwhile, the winner of each match will receive Rs. 50,000 while the draw will get Rs. 25,000 each respectively and the Man of the match of each match will enjoy Rs. 10,000 each.
