Sushmita reveals she suffered heart attack

Agencies,Mumbai, Mar. 3: Bollywood diva Sushmita Sen underwent an angioplasty this week after she suffered a heart attack. The actress took to social media to share the news with her 6.9 million followers on Instagram. Alongside a picture with her father Subir Sen, the 47-year-old recalled his wise words, and quoted him, “Keep your heart happy and courageous, and it’ll stand by you when you need it the most, Shona.” 

The 1994 Miss Universe said that a stent has been put in her heart. After the angioplasty, the stent is immediately placed in the heart. The purpose of a stent, which looks like a tiny tube, is to hold the artery and blood vessels in place so that they don’t narrow and ensure proper blood flow. It takes around three to 12 months for the tissues around the stent to cover it like a layer of skin.

Trying to look at the lighter side of things, Sen said her cardiologist “reconfirmed” that she has a big heart. The ‘Aarya’ star also said she has a number of people to thank for taking timely action. “Lots of people to thank for their timely aid & constructive action…will do so in another post,” she added.
