By Our Correspondent,Damak, Feb. 17: Kamalnagar Hospital, Kamal Rural Municipality, in Jhapa district, has started providing health services under the initiative of the municipality. It has started treatment services, along with health insurance scheme.
The hospital is going to be the beginning point for the insured people of the municipality.
Kamalagar Hospital has been brought into operation with the insurance scheme as per the promises made while assuming their offices by the newly elected local level representatives.
Indra Aryal, health department head of the rural municipality, informed that the OPD services along with emergency services were introduced.
The hospital came into operation on February 13.
Aryal said that specialist services have also been added in collaboration with Amada Hospital, Damak. Patients will get specialist services in the hospital, said Aryal. “We hope the compulsion for patients to visit other places for general treatment will end now.”
According to Hukum Singh Rai, chairman of the rural municipality, Topgachi health post has been upgraded as Kamalnagar Hospital.
Rai informed that a team 13 employees, including MBBS doctors and medical officers, has been arranged to provide regular health checkup, X-ray, lab and ECG services.
According to the rural municipality the hospital has been providing its services from 8:00am in the morning to 6pm in the evening, but has been working to provide services 24-hour a day.
