President Paudel attends Republic Day special ceremony

Kathmandu, May 29: President Ramchandra Paudel has attended a special ceremony organised at Tundikhel on the occasion of the Republic Day today.

A contingent of the Nepali Army presented a guard of honour to the Head of the State in the ceremony. 

A Nepali Army helicopter displayed a banner reading 'Republic Day 2083' and showered flower petals from the air. 

Similarly, a national flag was hoisted as well as pigeons were released wishing for peace. 

A march-past was also performed by Nepali Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force Nepal and Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Force.  

Likewise, processions showcasing country's original art and culture were presented by different local level governments of Kathmandu Valley on the occasion. 

Vice-President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister and Chair of Republic Day Main Function Committee, Balendra Shah, Chief Justice Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal and National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal joined the celebration. 

Similarly, Ministers, Deputy-Speaker, NA Vice-Chairperson, lawmakers, chiefs and office-bearers of constitutional bodies, head and office-bearers of diplomatic missions in Nepal and civil service employees are present at the programme. (RSS)
