Waling (Syangja), April 17: The Bhirkot municipality's ward number 8 office has initiated providing free health insurance to 600 students of 11 public schools here.
Under the heading of child-friendly local governance, the ward office has started providing free health insurance up to Rs 100,000 for nursery to 10th grader students.
According to ward chairperson Nanda Lal Khanal, the ward has begun providing health insurance worth Rs 100,000 per student based on their birth registration for those studying from nursery to grade 10 in public schools within the ward.
“Regardless of whether the students study in any public or private school within Bhirkot Municipality-8, the ward will provide free health insurance", he shared.
It is stated that treatment will be provided according to the insurance at hospitals where the health insurance is applicable, and payments will be made based on receipts for treatment at other hospitals.
The ward has also been encouraging birth registration by opening an account and depositing Rs 5,000 after the birth of a child. (RSS)
