Deepmala crowned Miss Nepal Hong Kong

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb. 7: Deepmala Kharel Dhakal won the title of Miss Nepal Hong Kong 2026 amid a grand event held in Hong Kong recently. 

Ashma Kumari KC, the winner of Miss Nepal World 2024, crowned her. 

As a Miss Nepal Hong Kong, Deepmala will now be eligible to compete in the Miss Nepal competition to be held in 2026. 

After receiving the title, she said, “I will try to introduce the Nepali community in Hong Kong and Nepal’s originality to the world. Along with happiness, I feel a greater sense of responsibility. Where one is born is not a matter of choice, but where one chooses to be and what one chooses to do certainly is.”

Deepmala is currently working as an investment strategist at BlackRock, one of the world’s largest investment companies.

 Born and raised in Hong Kong, she joined BlackRock immediately after completing her graduation there. 

Along with her professional career, Deepmala possesses a multi-dimensional personality. She is a participant in the Hong Kong Marathon, a taekwondo athlete, a skilled programme host, a TED speaker, a runway model and a member of Hong Kong Toastmasters.

While receiving the Miss Nepal Hong Kong title, she was also honoured with the title of ‘Goodwill Ambassador’ by Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research Centre. 

Deepmala is also the winner of the HKSAR Diversity List Award 2024 and a United Nations Millennium Fellow. 

Proficient in five languages, Deepmala has won three championship titles.
