Home Minister discusses election security with principal secretaries of province govt.

Kathmandu, Jan 6: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal held a discussion with principal secretaries of province governments, focusing on election security- collection of information, and risk analyses.     

He directed the bureaucratic leaders and security chief in provinces to ensure peace and security in view of the coming House of Representatives election.     

Existing security situation, crime control and border security also featured significantly during the meeting. He reminded the attending officials and security chiefs how they could work in tandem to ensure March 5 HoR election is held in a calm and peaceful atmosphere. The officials cannot shirk their responsibilities at such national need, Home Minister Aryal reiterated.     

The Home Minister further said facilitation, coordination and motivation are tools to utilize to make most of the civil employees. The administrative authority should be utilized effectively, while playing a coordinating role between province and federal governments.     

Smooth security helps create religious tolerance and social harmony, according to him. The assistance and coordination further makes the society dynamic and effective, he stressed.     

Security plays a vital role in federalism that works on constitutional principle of cooperation, coordination and coexistence.     

On the occasion, Home Secretary Rajkumar Shrestha also directed for smooth coordination and creation of calm atmosphere along with support from political parties necessary for HoR election.(RSS)
