'Joint efforts necessary between govt. and civil society to maintain mutual harmony'

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Jan 5: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has urged everyone to maintain peace, harmony, and tranquility in society and refrain from any behavior or hateful expression that can spread religious hatred in the multicultural and multi-ethnic country.

In an interaction programme with civil society leaders organized at the Home Ministry today, Home Minister Aryal appealed to people to be aware of religious hatred and misleading news and information being spread through social media and to maintain social and religious tolerance in society.

During the meeting, Home Minister Aryal called on civil society leaders to team up to obliterate various types of religious extremism and ideologies that are currently being spread through social media and to promote peace and harmony in society.

He expressed the view that civil society has an important role to play in maintaining harmony and peace.

During the discussion, Home Minister Aryal also expressed his commitment that the government and civil society will join hands to control foil activities that disrupt mutual harmony and harm others' religions.
