By Our Correspondent,Hetauda, Dec. 27: Matri Bhumi Sahitya Samaj, Hetauda, has announced that it will confer the Matri Bhumi Music Award on renowned singer Kunti Moktan. She will be honoured with the Nitya Govinda Memorial-Matri Bhumi Music Award 2081 at a ceremony in Hetauda.
The society’s secretary, Kishan Paudel, said that Moktan is being recognised for her significant contribution to Nepali song and music and will also receive a cash prize of Rs. 25,000.
The society is set to honour senior litterateur Prof. Dr Laxman Prasad Gautam with the Matri Bhumi National Award 2081, which includes a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 and a certificate.
Travel writer Bhawani Khatiwoda will receive the Maya Devi Matri Bhumi Award 2081, carrying Rs. 21,000, young poet Roshan Pariyar will be awarded the Shyam Shrestha Memorial Matri Bhumi Award, with Rs. 15,000 and classical music practitioner Jeevan KC will be conferred the Sharada Upreti Memorial Matri Bhumi Honour 2081, carrying Rs. 10,000.
According to Secretary Paudel, the Makwanpur Shree Honour 2082 will be dedicated to social activist Bishwa Kanti Kalawati. Established in 2056 BS with the aim of preserving and promoting Nepali language, literature, and art, the society has organised numerous literary programmes and has presented seventeen awards and honours across various genres to both established and emerging talents.
Secretary Paudel added that a programme featuring discussions, recitations of literary works, and the presentation of awards will be held in Hetauda on January 3 to promote Nepali language, literature, and art.
