By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Oct. 17: The government has decided to recall ambassadors from 11 countries, including China and the United States.
A meeting of the Council of Minister held in Singha Durbar on Thursday took the decision to this effect, according to Minister for Communication and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel after the meeting.
According to Minister Kharel, the recalled ambassadors have been instructed to return to Nepal by November 6, 2025.
The ambassadors being recalled include Krishna Prasad Oli (China), Shail Rupakheti (Germany), Dhan Prasad Pandit (Israel), Dr. Netra Prasad Timalsina (Malaysia), Ramesh Chandra Paudel (Qatar), Jung Bahadur Chauhan (Russia), Naresh Bikram Dhakal (Saudi Arabia), Shanil Nepal (Spain), Chandra Kumar Ghimire (United Kingdom), Lok Darshan Regmi (United States) and Dr. Durga Bahadur Subedi (Japan).
Most of these ambassadors were political appointees made by the erstwhile government formed under CPN-UM and Nepali Congress alliance, while a few had been sent through the foreign services.
TU Cricket Stadium masterplan approved
Meanwhile, the government has approved the master plan for the Tribhuvan University (TU) Cricket Stadium located in Kirtipur. The Cabinet meeting endorsed the master plan and granted approval to call tenders to begin the second phase of construction works, according to the Minister.
“The Cabinet has approved the master plan for the Kirtipur Cricket Stadium within Tribhuvan University premises, designating it as a project of national priority. It has also decided to move forward with the procurement process by inviting bids for the remaining works as per the master plan,” Minister Kharel said.
Under the first phase of the project, preparations are underway to complete the installation of floodlights and construct parapets with a seating capacity of 10,000 spectators.
