Government formed to hold fair elections as per schedule: Home Minister Aryal

Bhaktapur, Oct 16: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has said that the current government was formed to hold free and fair elections as per the schedule.

Accordingly, the government will hold the elections on March 5, 2026 in a free and fair manner.     

Inspecting the District Administration Office, Bhaktapur today, he said urged all concerned to come to a dialogue to create an environment for the elections.     

Stating that some elements were trying to prevent the elections from being held on the scheduled date, Home Minister Aryal said that it was necessary to thwart such forces. Some politicians are also trying to lower the morale of the security personnel.     

Those who were removed from power were trying to disturb peace, harmony and the politics of the entire country, Home Minister Aryal said. He directed the government to provide the necessary resources to the police as vehicles were burned and weapons were looted during the protest and for them to work to ensure peace and security for the people.     

Home Minister Aryal also inspected the area where the citizenship distribution section and case section of the District Administration Office were burnt during the protests on September 9.     

Chief District Officer Namaraj Ghimire informed the Minister about the damage caused during the protest and the subsequent inconvenience and the state of law and order situation in the country.(RSS)
