By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Oct. 16: The Madhesi Ekta Samaj-USA Chapter successfully organised a grand community event in Irving, Texas, to celebrate Nepal’s major festivals- Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath festivals on Sunday.
The gathering brought together over 100 members of the Nepali Madhesi diaspora, reflecting strong community cohesion and a shared commitment to preserving cultural heritage abroad.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests representing various Nepali organisations and institutions in the United States.
Attendees included Rajendra Wagle, President of Nepali Society of Texas (NST); Bikash Upreti, President of NRNA NCC USA; Bijay Bhusal, General Secretary of NST; Nilesh Shrestha, President of NRNA NCC Texas Chapter; Sarla Yadav, former Member of Parliament and leader of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Socialist).
Similarly, former CTEVT Director Ramdhari Yadav, former Nepal Telecom Engineer Mithilesh Kumar Jha, Muslim Women Activist and Nepali Congress leader Jamila Khatun, Senior Vice President of Madhesi Ekta Sama-USA Sanjay Jyamire, and Vice President of Madhesi Ekta Samaj International Committee Sashi Yadav, along with other community leaders.
The guests extended their congratulations and best wishes to the organiser, commending Madhesi Ekta Samaj-USA for its continued efforts to promote cultural preservation, social harmony, and community empowerment among Nepalis residing in the US.
On this occasion, the organisation also announced important structural measures, including the reorganisation of the Texas Chapter of Madhesi Ekta Samaj-USA and reforms within the Central Executive Committee of Madhesi Ekta Samaj-USA to enhance institutional effectiveness and engagement.
Accordingly, twenty one-member Central Executive Committee of Madhesi Ekta Samaj-USA has been formed under chairmanship of Anil Sah and 38-member Madhesi Ekta Samaj USA-Texas Chapter has been reorganised under Surendra Ram.
The event featured a series of traditional performances, music, and community interactions, celebrating the diversity and richness of Nepali culture.
The organisers expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, guests, and well-wishers for their enthusiastic support and active involvement.
Madhesi Ekta Samaj USA Chapter reaffirmed its dedication to strengthening community ties, preserving Madhesi identity, and promoting Nepal’s cultural values across international communities.
