Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba has remained absent in the meeting of the
party office bearers, incumbent and former.
Deuba, also former Prime Minister, has not been seen in public
programmes after he was physically attacked by a crowd at his house during Gen
Z movement on September 9. His house was also set on fire on the same day by
the protestors.
This meeting of the NC Office bearers is the first since even the NC
central office at Sanepa was set ablaze during the Gen Z protest on September
9.
The meeting was held at a room renovated after the attack.
NC vice president Purna Bahadur Khadka, Dhanraj Gurung, general secretary
duo Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma, among other leaders, were
present in the meeting.
The meeting is expected to set agenda for the meeting of the central
executive committee slated for 12 October and the meeting will formulate a perspective
on ways to move forward since it was ousted from the government with the success
of the Gen Z movement on September 9.
