Taplejung, Sept. 12: The Health Desk building constructed in Pathibhara (Mukkumalung) area of Taplejung has been set on fire.
The Health Desk and Tea House near the entrance to Pathibhara Dham were set on fire on Wednesday night.
According to the police, two buildings, a health desk and a tea house, have been completely damaged in the arson committed by an unknown group.
Police Inspector Rohit Kumar Badhai of the District Police Office, Taplejung, said that an investigation into the arson incident and search for the culprits are underway.
According to Prajin Hangbang, Executive Director of the Pathibhara Area Development Committee, the structures were constructed with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.
He said that the buildings, which were completed some time ago, were set on fire by an unknown group before they could be brought into operation.
It is said that the building, which is currently vacant and not in operation, is being used to store materials for the construction of the Pathibhara Cable Car.
According to an employee of the committee, cement and other materials were kept in the health desk and tea house.
Locals said that the arson may have been done taking advantage of the current situation in the country due to the Gen-Z movement.
