By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept 3: Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has viewed that republic would have been impossible without participation and sacrifice of women in the People's War.
The leader of the main opposition party in the parliament
said so while inaugurating the 7th national conference of the All
Nepal Women Association (Revolutionary) here today.
Chairman Prachanda also urged the delegates of the conference
to pledge for intensifying socialist movement and raise voices protesting
violence against women.
"The mandatory provision of 33 per cent
inclusion of women in state organs including parliament would not have been
possible without the republic and the new constitution and republic would not
have been possible without women's participation and sacrifice."
Prachanda also lauded the way women in Kalikot and Rolpa districts showed bravery and made the contribution by snatching weapons from for the people's war. "Had they not showed bravery, provided weapons to the party by snatching them for state forces, the people's war may not have moved ahead."
