One dead, two injured in Nawalpur road mishap

By Bom Lal Giri, Nawalpur, Sept.3: One died while two others sustained injuries in a collision between a container truck and a freight truck in Devchuli, east of Bardaghat-Sustapur, late last night.

According to the Information Officer at the District Police Office, Madhu Nepal, the accident occurred at Devchuli-15 Lokaha along the East-West Highway. A container heading toward Butwal collided head-on with a truck coming from Narayangadh.

The container driver, 35-year-old Madhav Pangeni of Susta Rural Municipality-1, Nawalparasi (West), died during treatment this morning at the College of Medical Sciences in Bharatpur.

The container’s co-driver, Ram Bahadur Sarki, aged 36, of Rapti Municipality-7, Chitwan, and the truck driver, Bich Bahadur Thing, aged 30, of Bardibas Municipality-11, Mahottari, sustained serious injuries. 

Both are currently undergoing treatment at Alive Hospital in Bharatpur.
