NA members stress favourable atmosphere to retain students within country

Kathmandu, Aug 19: The National Assembly (NA) members have urged the government to create an environment conducive to the students for pursuing higher studies within country.     

They emphasized enabling such environment, citing the campuses across the country were being deserted due to the increasing exodus of Nepali students for foreign study. They pointed out this need in the special hour of the NA meeting on Tuesday.     

Echoing the desertion of universities, Bhuwan Bahadur Sunar said, "Campus premises are full of verdant grass." It is alarming to see many students leaving country for higher study. He saw the need to develop the optimism among the students that 'There is future in Nepal as well' thereby discouraging them to hanker after foreign education.     

Likewise, Narayan Datta Bhatta urged the government to proceed with the reopening of the Gaurifanta border point and construction of the Jhulaghat Bridge during Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's impending visit to India.     

According to him, Nepali Congress, despite being the largest party in the parliament, had made sacrifices. In this light, he appealed to everyone to take a lesson from this.     

Similarly, Ganga Kumari Belbase underscored the need to repair roads and highways as the festival season have begun. She viewed that the government should carry out market monitoring and facilitate smooth functioning of the market since, she argued, that anomalies were creeping up in the pretext of closure of the Tatopani and Rasuwagadhi checkpoints.     

Indira Gautam emphasized that everyone should be responsible to address the growing public disenchantment. She opined that the positive developments delivered by the government should not be falsely publicized as if nothing had happened yet.(RSS)
