Nepal is a god-gifted country with nature, culture, heritage and hardworking people. However, for many years, Nepal has faced a number of problems economically, politically, and in regard to development. There are developing ideas that Nepal can be one of the developed nations. The book that gives us ideas on how Nepal could be a successful country in the future is Nepal 2043: The Road to Prosperity, written by Sujeev Shakya. This book talks about how Nepal can transform itself from a failed economy to a successful and sustainable economy by the year 2043. In addition, another book Unleashing Nepal also shows a roadmap for the country’s future.
Nepal has a huge potential to become a more developed nation in a few years. Nepal is actually very rich in every sector like water resource, natural beauty and very hard-working people. However, Nepal faces various kinds of challenges like corruption, weak infrastructure, unemployment and slow development. If the people of Nepal want a better future, we should work on our problems from today. We should work until our country has a better future.
First, we should change our week mindset. There are lots of people who believe that Nepal can’t be developed and going abroad is the only way to success. After going abroad, some families are settled but Nepal cannot grow if the young talent leaves the country. Young people should think about building the opportunities in our own country. If youth become more creative, hardworking, and confident they can raise their voice for the better future of the country.
Another major issue in Nepal is corruption. There are many people who involve in corruption. Corruption slows the development because the money for the public services and projects is misused. This kind of act has affected the quality of education, healthcare, transportation and other many important sectors. To reduce corruption, Nepal government should make strong laws. At the same time, citizens should raise their voice against corruption.
We should also focus on infrastructure. Many parts of the country still lack good transport, electricity and water resource etc.; poor infrastructure make very difficult to grow the business. Government should invest in building more digital technology, transport and roads. Government should highlight the infrastructure as the main goal. Strong infrastructure attracts the investors from another country. We can promote tourism and improve trade with our neighbours -- India and China.
Education and skill development are also very important factors. In the context of Nepali schools and colleges, they are mainly based on the theoretical knowledge.
We should also work on the practical skills so that students can create the opportunities instead of only searching for opportunities. When youth gain skills, they can create jobs in our owns country. The skills and study can reduce unemployment.
Nepal also has a huge opportunity in tourism, agriculture and hydropower. If Nepal improves the facilities for the tourists, promotes culture and preserve natural beauty, tourism sector automatically thrives.
Agriculture becomes more productive when the farmers know about the modern technology and better irrigation system. Nepal has many rivers that can produce huge amount of electricity. If we can manage this type of problem properly, we can increase the economic growth.
Nepal needs unity among our owns people. If the government, citizens, and businesses work separately, the development becomes slow. We should know that everyone must support to build the nation. Honest leadership and responsible citizens can bring positive changes.
Nepal's future depends on the citizens. By controlling the corruption, improving the infrastructure, and investing in education, Nepal can overcome its challenges. I believe that strong leadership can achieve a significant progress and Nepal can become a developed nation by 2043.
In conclusion, Nepal stands at a critical juncture at this time. Our country faces challenges like inequality, environmental risks and governance issues. By reimagining the future of Nepal, investing in the key sectors and empowering the people, Nepal can go forward on the path of prosperity.
The ideas highlighted in “Nepal 2043: The Road to Prosperity”, "Unleashing Nepal” and “Nepal Nexus” remind us that development is not only economic growth but also about leadership, employment opportunities, and development of youth energy. If Nepal can utilize the natural resources and youth energy, the dream of a better future of the nation is not far. With this mindset, Nepal holds potential to transform and build better future for the upcoming generation.
