Kathmandu, Aug. 4: Diya Shrestha has been crowned Miss Nepal North America 2025 at the grand finale held at the Melrose Ballroom in Queens, New York.
The eighth edition of the competition concluded with much fanfare, drawing attention from the Nepali diaspora and supporters worldwide. According to Nepali time, the crowning took place amidst a celebratory atmosphere, with contestants, judges, and spectators joining together to mark another milestone in the pageant’s journey.
Krishna Subedi from Tennessee was declared the first runner-up, while Arya Koirala from Texas secured the position of second runner-up. A total of 19 contestants, each representing diverse backgrounds and aspirations from various American states, were in race for the coveted title this year.
Their performances reflected a blend of grace, intellect, and cultural pride, showcasing the strength and talent of young Nepali women abroad.
As the titleholder, Diya Shrestha has earned a direct opportunity to visit Nepal next year, where she will serve as a goodwill ambassador for the pageant board. In addition to this prestigious role, she is expected to receive further opportunities to represent and uplift Nepali culture in international platforms. Her win is seen as a stepping stone not only in her personal journey but also in encouraging other young Nepali women to embrace leadership, confidence, and social impact.
The panel of judges for the evening included prominent personalities from the Nepali entertainment and social sectors—actors Pradeep Khadka, Aanchal Sharma, and Anup Bikram Shahi; former Miss Nepal Sadiksha Shrestha; and Sneha Shrestha, the founder of the social organisation Sneh Care.
Shailendra Shrestha, head of Dreams Universal and organiser of the event, shared his excitement about the successful completion of the finale. He expressed that this year’s competition stood out not just for the quality of participants but also for the meaningful conversations it sparked around empowerment, representation, and cultural identity. The event continues to grow each year as a significant platform for Nepali youth in North America to shine and connect with their heritage.
