Riju to contest for Miss Globe title

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, July 16: Riju Bhattarai, a 22-year-old from Pathari Shanishchare-1 of Morang, is all set to represent Nepal in the international beauty pageant, Miss Globe 2025.

 The competition will be held in Albania, Europe, from September 25 to October 15. 

More than 60 contestants from around the world will participate in the event.

Riju was selected for Miss Globe 2025 through a national-level competition held in April.

 The auditions for the pageant began on February 15, and the final selection was completed on April 16. 

After auditions were held across all seven provinces, 25 finalists were selected for the final round, where Riju emerged victorious, winning the title of ‘Miss Globe Nepal 2025.’

Riju had previously won several beauty pageant titles. In 2019, she was crowned ‘Miss Pathari,’ and in 2021, she won the title of ‘Miss Purwanchal.’

 Alongside her passion for beauty and art, Riju is equally talented in academics. She recently completed her undergraduate degree in Chemistry and aims to pursue postgraduate and doctoral studies in the same field.

With determination, she said, “I am preparing with the firm belief that I will raise Nepal’s flag on the international stage.”

Currently preparing for the competition through personal funding, Riju said, “In a country like ours, beauty pageants are not given much importance.” 

She also added that coming from a rural area and reaching this level required a lot of struggle.
