Gorkhapatra journo Bhandari receives international honour

By Our Correspondent, Dhankuta, July 7: Dhankuta-based journalist Kokila Bhandari has been felicitated with international honour for her contribution to journalism.

A delegation of Indian journalists, NUJ from Bihar, awarded Bhandari with the international honour. The delegation is in the Koshi province to contribute to Koshi Province Tourism Year 2082.

An actively working journalist, Bhandari has already been felicitated with different national awards including the Community Forest Journalism Award of the Forest Ministry seven years ago, and awards from Red Cross and Nepali Army.

Bhandari is a district correspondent of the Gorkhapatra daily.

She has been writing about corruption, cultural heritage of historical, archeological importance in the district and tourism of the district.

The Indian journalist delegation was taken to Diktel of Khotang district along with Nepali journalist as part of five-day tourist destination introduction programme of tourism office under the Tourism, Forest and Environment Ministry of Koshi provincial government.

The Indian journalist delegation included Kumar Amar of  Jamini Hakikat, Amit Kumar Jha of News 18 tv news, Ash Narayan Mishra and Prabhat Kuwar of News National India, Sanjay Kumar Papu of Hindi Dainik, Pramod Giri from Siliguri and Prashant from Sikkim.
