Land ownership certificates provided to landless in Ilam

By Kokila Dhakal, Ilam, July 7: Some 213 landless families have been provided with land ownership certificates in Ilam district.

The Ilam district chapter of Land Issue Resolving Commission has so far distributed the certificates to 110 families of Mangsebung Rural Municipality, 72 of Rong and 31 of Chulachuli.

Prakash Adhikari, chairperson of the district based commission, said that the commission was now focused on providing land ownership certificates to 152 families of Mai Municipality, by publishing a notice in this regard.

He said the commission has been working on 2,779 families of five local levels for providing them land ownership certificates.

He estimated that there were about 20,000 landless families in Ilam district.
