By Smita Arjel, Makawanpurgadhi, June 21: The Rana-era Hattisar Museum, located in Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-6 of Makawanpur, is a site of historical importance, known as the hunting ground of British Queen Elizabeth II and Rana Prime Minister Jung Bahadur Rana.
The museum houses hunting basins used by Queen Elizabeth II of Britain during her visit to Nepal and those used by the Rana family, including Jung Bahadur Rana.
The history of hunting between the then British Queen Elizabeth II and Rana Prime Minister Jung Bahadur Rana is preserved in the museum.
There are 42 elephant basins inside the Elephant House, including four hunting basins used by British Queen Elizabeth and basins with cages used by Jung Bahadur Rana.
