One dead, one injured in Saptari road mishap

By Vinay Karn, Kalyanpur (Saptari), June 5: One died and the other one sustained injury when a motorcycle met with an accident at Surunga Municipality-6, Saptari district, along the East-West Highway, on Wednesday night. 

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Dhakendra Khatiwada of the District Police Office, Saptarai, a motorcycle (Ba 87 Pa 997) heading west towards east lost control due to high speed and hit a divider placed on the road, resulting in a fatal accident. 

The deceased has been identified as 19-year-old Sujit Kumar Chaudhary of  Agnisair Krishna Savaran Rural Municipality-2, and the injured as 21-year-old Abhishek Chaudhary of the same place. Abhishek has sustained serious injuries to his hand and leg. Both were taken to Dhamani Hospital of Siraha district for treatment, but Sujit breathed his last on the way to Biratnagar for further treatment.

Relatives said that Abhishek has been taken to Dharan for further treatment after undergoing treatment at Dhamani Hospital of Siraha district. 

SP Khatiwada said that the body of the deceased has been kept at Gajendra Narayan Singh in Rajbiraj for an autopsy, and the motorcycle has been taken into custody at the Area Police Office, Korobona.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
