By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Apr. 14: Despite persistent rain and gloomy skies, Nepathya’s much-anticipated concert in Gokarneshwor was successfully held on Saturday evening, drawing a large and enthusiastic crowd.
The open-air venue faced early challenges due to the unexpected downpour, raising concerns about the stage setup and electrical equipment.
However, the event started right on schedule at 6:30 pm, as fans began entering the venue as early as 4:30 pm.
Having returned from a month-long tour of Australia where they held back-to-back sold-out shows in Sydney, Nepathya proved its enduring appeal with an energetic performance at home.
The concert opened with the popular number Koshiko Pani and moved into a sequence of soulful and melodious folk-rock tracks.
Popular novelist Subin Bhattarai, among the audience, remarked, “Nepathya represents my entire generation. Listening to them brings back memories of my youth.”
Many in the crowd echoed similar sentiments, including foreigners who had travelled to Nepal and were drawn to the band’s unique characteristic.
Lead singer Amrit Gurung encouraged the audience to explore the beauty of Nepal, noting that many of the band’s songs were inspired by his travels.
He was accompanied by Dhruva Lama, Subin Shakya, Niraj Gurung, Shanti Rayamajhi, and Dineshraj Regmi.
