Nepalgunj, Feb 5: All preparations have been completed for 'Tour de Thakurdwara' cycling programme that is going to be organized for the promotion of tourism in Banke and Bardiya districts.
The programme will set off from Nepalgunj and 196 participants from Jhapa, Dharan, Butwal, Bhairahawa, Dang, Chitwan, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Palpa, Biratnagar, various Indian cities and also from Japan and Korea are expected to take part in the Nepalgunj Cycling Festival which has been named as 'Tour de Thakurdwara'.
Pradip Sapkota, President of Nepalgunj Cycling Club, the organizer of the event, said that all arrangements have been made for food and accommodation of the guests. He said all the tourism destinations of Banke and Bardiya would be publicized in course of the tour.
This is the seventh edition of Nepalgunj Cycling Festival which will take place on February 6-8.
Sapkota added that although initiatives were made to organize the 'Tour de Banke National Park' in view of the immense possibility of tourism promotion in Banke as well, but this event did not become feasible due to the lack of accommodation for around 300 participants around the Park area.
He stressed on the need of moving ahead developing plan and activities for linking the religious circuit in Nepalgunj, including religious shrines as Baba Bararfani, Santaneshwar Temple and Govardhan Dham and Sikta Barrage, Banke National Park and the Gabhar Valley. (RSS)
