By Laxman Paudel, Bhairahawa, Jan 26: The Repandehi District Court has ordered to release former Home Minister and president of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Rabi Lamichhane on bail of Rs. 10 million in a case related to misappropriation of the deposits in the Supreme Cooperatives of Butwal.
Following a week-long hearing on the case, a single bench of justice Pralhad Kumar Yogi made the verdict today to release Lamichhane on bail.
With allegation of his involvement in abusing funds of the Supreme Cooperatives, a case of fraud and organised crime was filed in the Rupandehi District Court against Lamichhane.
Earlier, the Kathmandu district court has asked a sum of Rs. 6 million on bail from Lamichhane in another case related to Swarnalaxmi Multi-Purpose Cooperative while the Kaski district court had ordered his release on bail of Rs. 6.5 million in yet another case related to Suryadarshan Cooperative.
