Partnership with private sector essential to attract foreign investment: Minister Bhandari

Janaki (Banke), Nov 16: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari has said that partnership with the private sector is necessary to attract foreign investment.

He mentioned that the government is ready to emphasize on this. Addressing a programme organized by the Banke Chamber of Commerce and Industry here today, Minister Bhandari expressed the view that if the large and medium industries can be protected, Nepal will take an unprecedented jump in the economy.     

He mentioned that it is the government's responsibility to protect sick industries. Minister Bhandari said that the government is focusing on replacement and export promotion. He focused that the industrial area that is going to be built in Banke's Nauwasta is a priority of the government. Minister Bhandari said that since physical infrastructure is a prerequisite for the development of the industrial sector, the government has prioritized its construction.     

Minister Bhandari also inaugurated Star Polypipe Industries Pvt Ltd located in Nepalganj Sub-Metropolitan City-18 today. On the occasion, he promised that the government would provide necessary support to export-oriented industries and factories. Kamal Karki, chairperson of the Pvt. Ltd. informed that the industry, which is run at a cost of around Rs 650 million, has started its production.(RSS)
