Balendra Shah has instructed the vice chancellor of the universities to
implement the decision to dismantle structure of political party based student
and employee organisations in the universities and health institutions.
PM Shah made the directives during over the 3-hour
long discussions at the PM's office in Singh Durbar with the vice chancellors
and universities and health institutes across the country.
In their part, vice chancellors had responded that initiatives were being taken to dismantle such organsations as students politics has subsided after the Gen Z movement and the HoR election, according to the PM's secretariat.
PM Shah emphasized that no politics should be
entertained in any academic institutions and that no law stands as barrier to
dismantle political party based organisations in educational institutions.
The PM suggested to those willing to engage in
politics to disassociate from professional obligations as the government will
not tolerate political parties' flags, influence or organisations in places
such as hospital, campus and universities.
In response to situation of insecurity while trying
to dismantle student organisations as raised by Prof. Dr. Dhaneshwar Nepal,
vice chancellor of Nepal Sanskrit University, PM Shah suggested to inform the concerned
ministry or the PM's secretariat in such situation and assured that the
government will provide all necessary security.
On the occasion, PM Shah, also chancellor of the universities,
directed all to follow academic calendar and publish exam results within a
month.
