By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 23: Rainfall, along with thunder and lightning, is currently occurring in various areas across four provinces of Nepal, the Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said.
Meteorologist at the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Bibhuti Pokharel, said that rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is being reported in several districts, including Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Dhulikhel, as well as surrounding areas.
“There is rainfall in different districts of Bagmati, Gandaki, Madhesh, and Koshi provinces. Moderate rainfall has been observed in parts of Gandaki Province and Chitwan district. Some areas of Karnali and Lumbini provinces have also experienced rainfall,” Pokharel said.
According to the department, Solukhumbu’s Lum area has recorded the highest rainfall in the past 24 hours at 124.2 millimeters.
The weather outlook for Sunday and Monday indicates generally cloudy conditions across Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
Meanwhile, hot daytime temperatures are expected in the hilly regions of Sudurpashchim and Lumbini provinces, with possible heatwave conditions in the Terai areas.
There will be possible windstorms in a few Terai areas of Madhesh and Koshi provinces on Sunday, while similar conditions may affect parts of Gandaki, Bagmati, and Madhesh provinces on Monday.
