Jhapa, Nov 15: Chairman of the Janamat Party, Dr CK Raut, has said the political parties need jettisoning centralist mindset.
The major political parties are still stuck to the centralist and traditional thoughts, he blamed.
Chairman Raut said it while addressing a party gathering organized to announce candidate for the December 1 by-election at Kankai municipality-6.
The gathering was organized at Champapur of Kankai in the district on Friday. "The regimes changed with frequent revolutions, but the mindset did not," he reiterated, adding that the oppressed communities should be ensured meaningful change.
His party announced candidacy of Shuklal Rajbanshi for the chair of ward no 6 of Kankai municipality.
It is the first time the Janamat party took part in the local level election in Jhapa.
The post was lying vacant after then ward chair Dirgha Bahadur Thapa elected from CPN UML passed away.
There are a total 2058 voters in the ward.(RSS)
